No power can shake the faith and devotion of a woman to God and her husband. Even God has to think twice while handling such an occasion. This is the fundamental theme of our story Pativrata.

Meghnath entered the palace of Nagaraj in Patal Lok and captured Lord Indra who had escaped from Indra Lok having lost the battle with Meghnath and was in hiding under the shelter of Nagaraj. He married Vishnu devotee Sulochana the beloved daughter of Nagaraj without his consent which pinned Nagaraj and he vowed to take revenge on Meghnath.

Ravana the great devotee of Lord Shiva and the great enemy of Lord Vishnu, started torturing Vishnu devotees and Sulochana too became the victim of such tortures. She was imprisoned and ordered by her husband Meghnath to starve, which she accepted willingly.

To save his devotees from the torture of Ravana and to establish Dharma, Vishnu took the incarnation of Ram, and to fulfill his vows, Nagaraj came as Laxman.

The day arrived for the destruction of Evils. The war started between Rama and Ravana and Meghnath stood in the war field facing Laxman.

Anticipating the danger to her husband's life, Sulochana starts worshipping God Vishnu in complete devotion for the safety of her husband. She could neither forgo her diety nor husband. Viceversa, God too could neither forgo his devotee nor his duty.

How this conflict between God and Devotee was solved?

See PATIVRATA for the answer.
